Obviously we are talking about Ralf Schumacher and not Michael, but the statement quoted in the title still leaves everyone a bit speechless. The former Formula 1 driver has defined in strong terms what is the continuous push and pull by the British and the Mercedes Scuderia regarding the possible, almost certain, renewal of the seven-time World Champion. For 2021 Hamilton is still officially unemployed, without a home in Formula 1 in short, even if it is difficult to think of him out of the game for the title, in this regard Schumacher said:
“One thing is clear: Formula 1 is bigger than any individual, it’s February now and the most important man in F1 at the moment – the seven-time world champion driver – hasn’t signed yet. I find it a pity and, I must honestly say, even a little embarrassing. Lewis also must not forget the risk of what he is doing. They always say it’s just a question of money, but I hope not ”.
A clear allusion to the Russell phenomenon, which when called by the black arrows to replace positive Hamilton for Covid immediately gave a sign of being capable of great things, a rising star unfortunately nipped in the bud due to a strange and never well defined puncture in the course of the final race which prejudiced a victory that would have changed the way of seeing Hamilton for the whole world.
