Lance Stroll managed to get an extraordinary Pole Position this afternoon at Istanbul Park, but according to one of the latest FIA documents, his first position on the grid tomorrow could be at risk. The Canadian was in fact investigated for not having fully respected the yellow flag regime (which requires the driver to slow down) during the end of Q3 when following several long periods there were several yellow flags exposed.
Within the next hour we should have a verdict from the FIA. Same fate befell Sainz, Norris and Perez. Therefore, 2 of today’s top three appear to be at risk.
LAST UPDATE: The FIA has decided not to take any action against the Canadian who therefore sees his first Pole Position in Formula 1 confirmed, under the pouring rain in Turkey.
