Sargeant surprisingly dominates in Valencia

In what is, unfortunately, the last day of the Formula 3 test in Valencia on the 4 kilometers of the Ricardo Tormo circuit we find an unexpected and surprising Logan Sargeant, who knew how to impose his rhythm on his opponents in a day made by a master from the rain. Once again, after yesterday’s results, Prema returns to reiterate its supremacy, already glimpsed, for those who remember it, in the triplet of the Monza podium. Logan on a wet and compound wet track shows a remarkable 1: 33.705 trimming almost half a second net in Lungaard that does not change his position much and, if we can say so, he still conquers a splendid second position remaining in the front row, in conditions in which up to two days ago he suffered a lot. The improvement of the Danish is without shadow to report and noteworthy.

During the first laps, there were several long riders from several riders including Habsburg, Schumacher and Ticktum, in those who in the first minutes of the morning session the rain was really intense, so much so that visibility was almost impossible and almost forced to suspend, if not to cancel the session, for security reasons. The rain has returned to beat stronger than ever during the half-day break, which fortunately did not compromise the session. During the afternoon tests David Vidales lost control of his car in turn 10, causing a brief suspension of the session, making the Safety Car insufficient. After spending a good part of the morning and the intraday break in the pits to get the best out of his car, the Prema driver returned to the track in the afternoon with more load than ever and under a more torrential rain he broke the 1: 35,000 barrier registering a 1: 34.645 and thus once again setting the pace and dominating the standings.

It remains to consider the fact that today the cars were a little more varied in recent days: if the first day everyone looked for the perfect dry lap and yesterday a good race pace, today the riders opted for different options, with someone who has performed up to 50 laps and someone else who has stopped at 20. So the first tests in 2020 are concluded on the circuit of the fabulous Spanish town, there is now doubt about who is the driver who will have the most chance of playing the victory: Lungaard or Sargeant? Or will there be some unexpected revelation? For the answers we will have to wait for the start of the new season, or at least the pre-seasonal tests, whose dates will be revealed soon …
